The Road Patrol Division provides police services to the community and, as a result, is the most visible component of the Sheriff's Office. Categories of response include motor vehicle crashes, alarm activations, larceny complaints, criminal mischief, burglaries, 911 calls, etc.
Basically, any request for assistance will most likely result in contact with a member of our Road Patrol Division.
Our Road Patrol covers more than 480 square miles with extreme variances in terrain, including the "great divide" known as Cayuga Lake. Because of this, our Road Patrol Division makes use of our Patrol Boat, snowmobiles, and four-wheelers.
We also currently maintain satellite offices in the Village of Newfield and at the Pyramid Mall in the Village of Lansing.
