CHILD SEAT PROGRAM

Riding unrestrained is the single greatest risk factor for death and injury among child motor vehicle occupants.

If your child is one of the approximately 29 percent of children ages 4 and under who ride unrestrained, he or she is at twice the risk of death and injury as those who are restrained in vehicles.  Misuse is common.

The Sheriff's Office provides a Child Seat Program.  If you are in need of a child safety seat or a booster seat, please contact the Sheriff's Office at (607) 257-1345 and ask for the next scheduled inspection date.  Upon arriving at your scheduled time, you will be assisted by a trained deputy who will provide you with an appropriate seat and properly install it for you.
