Communities, nonprofits, and other organizations can work toward
increased local employment and higher wages by providing opportunities
for job skill training to the local workforce. Communities can
establish programs that improve entry-level skills, as well as
programs that address the needs of specific sectors such as manufacturing
and high-tech industries.
Tompkins Workforce
New York, is the organization that serves as the local point
of contact for workers and employers to address these issues.
It provides services, such as resume preparation, sample interviews,
and labor market information, to help facilitate employment opportunities
for local workers.
