Communities can choose to zone specific transportation corridors
with a corridor overlay zone. The purpose of such an overlay zone
is to manage a road's development and access. Overlay zones build
on the underlying zoning, by establishing different standards
and criteria along the defined transportation corridor. Standards
that may be addressed in a corridor overlay zone are:
1) structure setback,
2) parking setback,
3) minimum lot width, and
4) vehicular access.
