Buying a home located close to a central business district, where
employment is often located, is frequently more expensive than
buying a house in a rural area. Communities, local banks, and
employers can pool their resources and create a mortgage incentive
program for home buyers who choose to buy homes near their places
of work. By providing housing close to employment, this program
can lower the costs of commuting, lessen the pressure on infrastructure,
and generate more pedestrian traffic in business districts.
