Affordable Housing for Commercial Workforce

New commercial development creates new jobs, as well as the need for more housing to accommodate new employees. Communities can encourage developers to provide affordable housing for their workforce to offset the impact that the development has on existing housing within the community.

Communities can accomplish this by requiring business developers to pay fees into an affordable housing fund or to provide housing (including some affordable housing) as part of their development proposals.
