Home>Census Data> Standard Census Data Standard Census DataIn 2000, the Census Bureau conducted its decennially census and disseminated information about the population and housing. Detailed information about the county and the towns and villages in the county can be found on the tables below. IMPORTANT NOTE: The original population figures released by the U.S. Census Bureau were challenged through the Bureau’s County Question Resolution (CQR) Program. The CQR Program handled challenges to particular official Census 2000 counts of housing units and group quarters population. Based on a challenge by Tompkins County, the official population figures for the City of Ithaca, the Town of Ithaca, and the Village of Cayuga Heights were revised to reflect the distribution of university-related group quarters population. Only the total population figures were revised and not the characteristics of the re-allocated population. NOTE: You must have Acrobat® Reader™ to view the following files.
