Affirmative Action Committee Information

Committee Information:
Tompkins County established an Affirmative Action Committee in 1985. The committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of Representatives and the County Affirmative Action Officer. They are responsible for reviewing and updating the County’s Affirmative Action Plan and Programs, as well as advising the Affirmative Action Officer and the Board of Representatives on matters relating to Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunities. 

Affirmative Action and Equal Employment research, laws, changes and community issues are a regular part of the Committee’s objectives. The Committee assists in the coordination of action-oriented programs to further the established goals and objectives of the Affirmative Action Plan.

Tompkins County Affirmative Action and Workforce Diversification Committee meets monthly. Meetings are open to employees and the public. If you have questions or need more information about the committee, please contact the Affirmative Action Officer or Organizational Development Coordinators.
