HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Community Health Nurse, Full-time, temporary and per-diem appointments, White Collar grade O (15), $25.40 per hour upon hire increasing to $28.22 per hour after 9 months of employment.  Residency Waived

Physical Therapist,  Full-time Permanent, 35 hours per week, White Collar grade O (15), $47,434 at the time of hire, and increases to $51,535 after nine months of employment.

Public Health Director, Full-time Permanent non-competitive class appointment (no civil service test),  The position may be filled at 35 or 40 hours per week.  This is a Management position with a salary range of $81,854 to $94,857, a relocation allowance and a full benefits package.  Residency Waived

Public Health Sanitarian, Full-time temporary, 35-hour per week summer appointment beginning in early April of 2010. Funding is currently available for this position for 3-4 months.  The appointment may be converted to provisional (pending the next civil service exam) if funds become available. White Collar N (14), $23.61 per hour. Benefits eligible ONLY if the appointment exceeds 120 days.

Public Health Sanitarian, Part to full-time provisional 28 to 35-hours per week beginning in early April 2010. Funding for this position is
currently available through September 30, 2010, and extension is contingent on continued grant funding. Funding for this position is provided by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Healthy Neighborhoods Program Grant which ends 9/30/2010 with up to two 1-year renewals.
White Collar N (14), $23.61 per hour. Benefits eligible.

 

HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT

Seasonal Worker, Multiple full-time temporary positions to be filled starting in mid April.  Appointments last for up to 190 days.  This is a 40 hour work week consisting initially of 5 eight-hour days but converting to 4 ten-hour days through the summer.  The position is a Blue Collar Grade H (8) with an hourly rate of $12.02. 

ASSESSMENT

Data Collector,  Full-time, 35 hours per week, White Collar grade G (7), $29,515 at time of hire and increases to $32,058 after nine months of employment.  The Civil Service Examination for this position will be held April 17, 2010, interested candidates must apply by 4:30 p.m. on the final filing date of March 25, 2010.

TOWN OF ITHACA

Seasonal Worker,   Multiple Full-time Temporary positions, 40 hour work week from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Maximum of 25 weeks of employment, performing routine physical work, which requires physical endurance and a willingness to perform arduous tasks. The work is performed under direct supervision.  $11.10 per hour.


 

 

Pursuant to Civil Service Law, Sections 51-2, this vacancy list will serve as notification of the County's intent to conduct open-competitive examinations for the competitive titles mentioned above.  The Commissioner of Personnel reserves the right to hear 51-3 appeals, evaluate promotional fields and hold promotional examinations instead of open-competitive examinations.
