Called to Order

The meeting was called to order at 8:56 a.m.

Department of Social Services

 Position Request
It was MOVED by Mr. Booth, seconded by Mr. Penniman, to approve the request to fill the Caseworker position as presented.  Ms. Carey highlighted the reasons for the request and said the person currently in the position is resigning.  A minor reorganization will occur and this position will be going to family court and the number of cases handled by this position is likely to increase.  Ms. Carey commented on the exit interview she held and said some of the reasons for the employee leaving include the caseload size, separating themselves from the person and struggling with the lack of supervision.  She said these are areas of concern and will be addressing them.  However, she said the individual they are considering to hire has experience in substance abuse in family mental health issues.

A voice vote resulted as follows:  Ayes - 3 (Koplinka-Loehr, Booth, and Penniman); Noes - 0; Excused - 2 (McBean-Clairborne and Todd).  MOTION CARRIED.

Adjournment
