Public Notice: Proposed 2011-2015 TIP Revisions

The 2011-15 TIP is being revised in order to meet reduced federal funding levels. Federal regulations require that the TIP be fiscally constrained, i.e. cost of programmed projects must equal expected available funding. Reductions in expected funding require a reduction in the total of programmed projects.

Description:
The proposed revisions to the TIP are presented in four groups of projects (click on group name to see tables):
a. Deferred Projects (top half of linked page) – these are projects that will be deleted from the current TIP, but will likely be considered in future TIP updates.
b. Unchanged Projects (bottom half of linked page) – these projects exist in the current TIP and will remain unchanged.
c. Existing Projects with Proposed Adjustments – these projects exist in the current TIP and they are proposed to be modified in some way, i.e. level of funding, implementation year, etc.
d. New or Returning Projects (bottom of linked page) – these are either new projects or projects currently being implemented that are proposed to receive new/additional funding.

The information for ‘Existing Projects with Proposed Adjustments’ is presented showing the data in the current approved TIP followed by the proposed data adjustments. These two sets of information are presented side-by-side in similar format for facilitate comparison.

2006 TIP Guidebook for Municipalities

This publication served as a tool to assist project applicants in completing an application for the 2007-2012 TIP. The Guidebook provides general information on the TIP: What is the TIP? What types of projects should be included in the TIP? How are projects selected for the TIP?

It also provides step-by-step information on the TIP and the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) Development Process (e.g., soliciting project proposals, preparing and submitting project proposals, project evaluation, committee review and recommendations, and public involvement).

Correction (dated, October 5, 2006): NYSDOT Region 3 found several typos in the Cost Estimating Tables that were handed out at the TAC meeting for use when preparing IPPs. Please use the new table in your estimating work. >>Click here for corrected estimating tables<<
