Religious Structures of Groton

West Groton Community Church A group formed at the home of Ichabod Brown by Rev. Joshua Dean and Rev. Seth Smith as the West Church of Locke in December 1816. Meetings continued in the homes of members and the schoolhouse until 1833 when their church building was completed at a cost of $500. A steeple was added in 1884. Also formerly known as the West Groton Congregational Church, it is currently the West Groton-East Lansing Church and is located at 858 Cobb Street.
