Religious Structures of Caroline

Rev. Clegg also spoke at the Baptist and Methodist Episcopal churches in Brooktondale. The Baptist church has moved to Slaterville Rd. where a new building was put together with the help of parishioners, in 1972. The “old” church, built in 1863 at 514 Valley Rd. in what was then Brookton, is now an apartment building. The Baptists organized their church in 1814, in Mott’s Corners (now known as Brooktondale) so the current church is at least the 3rd structure to serve this congregation. In 1890 there were 100 members, down to 66 in 1910. Currently 51 people are on the church roles.
