American Recycling assists commercial businesses in developing waste management programs and provides counseling on internal waste management with emphasis on recycling. Additional services include container and hauling services for paper, glass, metals, plastics, and cardboard. The objective of American Recycling is to provide a cost savings to businesses, both in labor hours and hauling fees. Sales include pollution packets, wet and dry waste compacting, and bailing. |

The Solid Waste Management Division is responsible for management of solid waste generated in Tompkins County. The Division also investigates illegal dumping, and provides information on disposal options for household hazardous waste. |
