Tompkins County Soil & Water Conservation District The Soil and Water Conservation District provides technical assistance and education to county land users and governments to promote the wise use and conservation of soil, water, and related resources. Program areas include water quality protection, wetland investigations, permit applications, erosion and sediment control, agricultural waste management, stormwater management, critical area protection, stream-bank stabilization, house site evaluation, conservation education, annual seedling sales, and the Pond Stocking Program.
