CrimeTime is free sentencing software created by George Dentes, the former District Attorney of Tompkins County. Click here to download the 2005 version (version 2005.2.0) Tompkins County will host CrimeTime until April 28th, 2006, after which time we will direct you to georgedentes.com What It Does: CrimeTime quickly calculates the permissible sentences for New York crimes, taking into account the conviction and the defendant's age and criminal history. First published in 1996, CrimeTime is now being widely used throughout New York State by judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, probation officers, news reporters, and others who need to understand sentencing possibilities. Copyright / Distribution: Although copyrighted, CrimeTime is free and can be freely copied and redistributed, provided the files are not altered and credit for authorship is given to George Dentes. System Requirements: The 1996, 1997, and 1998 versions are DOS-based programs. For 1999 and later versions, CrimeTime is a native 32-bit application, meaning it requires Windows 95 or later (Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows ME, Windows XP, etc.). No Warranties: CrimeTime carries no express or implied warranties of fitness, merchantability, or anything else. Use it at your own risk. Version Information: CrimeTime has been updated annually since it was first released in 1996. Because crimes and sentencing provisions may change from year to year, you should be sure that you are using the version of CrimeTime that matches the year when the crime was committed. For crimes before 1996, try the 1996 version, which includes some references to pre-1996 sentencing options. If you are installing multiple versions of CrimeTime, install each separate version in a separate directory. |
