District Attorney Gwen Wilkinson announced today that a former Cornell student was sentenced on May 4, 2011, in Tompkins County Court.
Keri Blakinger, 26, who was a Cornell University student and former editor of the Cornell Daily Sun, was sentenced in Tompkins County Court before Hon. John C. Rowley to 2.5 years of incarceration, to be followed by 2 years of post-release supervision. Ms. Blakinger was arrested on December 19, 2010, on Stewart Avenue in the City of Ithaca in possession of over 4 ounces of heroin. Ms. Blakinger admitted to possessing the heroin with intent to sell it and was the Queenpin in distributing heroin in and around the Collegetown area of Cornell University.
The Ithaca Police Department handled the investigation and arrest of Ms. Blakinger. Ms. Blakinger was represented by Ithaca attorney William P. Sellers, IV, Esq.
