News Details - County Seeks Waterburg Bridge Public Input
The Tompkins County Highway Division plans to replace a 77-year old bridge in the hamlet of Waterburg in 2013. The one-lane bridge over Taughannock Creek is on Waterburg Road in the Town of Ulysses and suffers from significant deterioration that led the County to decide to replace the structure.
To ensure community concerns are considered, the County has scheduled a public information meeting at the Ulysses Town Hall, 10 Elm Street in Trumansburg, on Thursday, August 2nd, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Delta Engineers of Binghamton, who will be preparing plans for the bridge replacement, is preparing to begin design work. The County estimates that design will be completed this winter with construction next summer. The County invites everyone interested in this project to attend the public information meeting. For more information, contact County Project Manager John Lampman, at the Tompkins County Highway Division, 170 Bostwick Road, Ithaca, NY, jlampman@tompkins-co.org, or at (607) 274-0307.
