News Details - Tourism Board Invites Input on Strategic Tourism Plan
Organizations or individuals interested in participating in the development of tourism in Ithaca and Tompkins County are invited to submit comments on a draft of the County’s 2012-2020 Strategic Tourism Plan.
The Strategic Tourism Planning Board (STPB) has developed the draft plan with input from a variety of stakeholders and community members. The STPB is charged by the Tompkins County Legislature with providing oversight and strategic direction for tourism initiatives that promote economic development and enhance the quality of life in Tompkins County.
The draft plan sets out policies for use of the County’s hotel room occupancy tax funds for tourism marketing and product development, describes past achievements of the Tompkins County Tourism Program and identifies goals for each of fifteen focus areas and 37 critical actions for enhancing local tourism.

Paper copies of the draft plan and written comment forms will also be made available at the following public locations after Friday, June 22nd: Tompkins County Public Library, Ithaca Tompkins County Convention and Visitors Bureau at 904 East Shore Drive, Ithaca Downtown Visitors Center/Ticket Center on the Ithaca Commons, and the Tompkins County Planning Department at 121 E. Court St.
