Community Beautification Projects Matching Grants Program

Community Beautification assistance is available to Tompkins County towns and villages for community beautification projects. Municipalities, volunteer organizations and service groups are eligible to receive assistance.

Eligible projects:

• Create a significant visual impact that will benefit the community and make the area more attractive to visitors
• Can be located on public or private properties
• Can include planting of trees, shrubs, flowers, bulbs and mulching
• Can also include signage, benches, sculpture and other features
• Can include removal and replacement of existing plant materials where needed to improve visual appearance
• Can include seasonal container plantings for color

The Community Beautification Coordinator is available to advise the municipality/beautification group on plant selection, purchasing and design.

Plant maintenance is expected and will be the responsibility of the municipality/beautification group.
