ANNUAL REPORTS

Effective:        January 12, 1981                                                                                                0l-16

Objective:       To establish procedures for the turning in of annual reports by County department heads

Reference:     Office of the Clerk of the Board of Representatives; County Law, Section 406.

Policy of the Board of Representatives:

1.      Any County officer who receives, or is authorized by law to receive any fines, penalties, fees, or other moneys belonging to the County or in which the County has an interest, shall on or before the first day of February of each year, make a fiscal report for the previous year.  Copies should go to the Office of the Clerk of the Board and the Office of the County Administrator.  If no moneys were received, the report should so state.

2.      Submission of annual reports is optional for County department heads not required by law to submit an annual fiscal report.  A summary of the report or the entire report may be included in the Proceedings of the Board of Representatives, depending on space and printing costs.  Such annual reports may include activities and matters deemed of importance or of interest to the Board of Representatives and the public.  To help meet printing deadlines, annual reports should be submitted to the Clerk of the Board as close to February 1 as possible.

3.      Where annual reports are submitted, they are to be on plain white paper, 8 ½” x 11”.  Elaborate covers are to be avoided as they add greatly to printing costs.  Content, not appearance, should be emphasized.  Brevity is appreciated.
