To Transfer a Pistol Permit from Tompkins County:

    Completely fill in the Pistol Permit Transfer Application - print 2 copies and sign both

    Fill in the highlighted areas on the NYS License Amendment Form - print 2 copies and sign in the signature of the licensee area on both forms  

    Please send:

    - 2 Pistol Permit Transfer Applications (originals only)

    - 2 NYS License Amendment Forms (originals only)

    - 2 - $5.00 Checks

            1 made payable to the Tompkins County Clerk

            1 made payable to the either the County Clerk or Sheriff's office of the County we are transferring the permit to.

    320 N Tioga St

    Ithaca, NY 14850

 To finish up the process you must go to either the County Clerk's office or the Sheriff's office where you are transferring the permit to and have them change the address on the permit.
