Rabies Vaccinations

Rabies is a viral infection that is fatal to humans. The rabies virus is contained in the saliva and nervous tissue of rabid animals. Human post-exposure treatment consists of a dose of rabies immune globulin administered as soon as possible ("day zero"). Click for more info.

Free rabies vaccination clinics for dogs, cats and ferrets

State law requires all dogs, cats and ferrets older than 4 months to have valid, current rabies vaccination. TCHD Environmental Health Division provides free vaccination clinics at convenient locations throughout Tompkins County.
